An impressive performance by Raiders at the Herts County FA Awards Night! Berkhamsted Raiders CFC picked up four major awards at the Hertfordshire County FA Awards.
The awards are an annual celebration aimed at recognising the people and organisations driving grassroots football.
Raiders scooped up the Herts FA Charter Standard Community Club of the Year for the third time in five years, and also won the FA Eastern Region Community Club of the Year. Raiders will now be shortlisted for the national FA Charter Standard Community Club award, held later in the year.
Raiders Club Development Officer, Paul Russell, picked up the Herts FA Volunteer of the Year Award. Paul Russell’s award is thoroughly deserved and recognises the contribution he has made to the growth of Raiders and to the funding of local initiatives and the BerkoAstro 3G project. He is the Raiders go-getter when it comes to getting grants! When we need funding for a new initiative, you can be sure that Paul will find a source.
Club Chairman Keith Pollard received a Herts FA Workforce Award, and commented: “It was another fantastic night for Raiders and we’re thrilled to have been honoured as Herts FA Community Club of the year for the third time, The Award recognises the massive amount of time and effort that the committee and managers dedicate to providing football for 700 local boys and girls in our 56 teams"
The prestigious Hertfordshire FA Awards took place at Knebworth Barns on Wednesday 4th July in front of an audience of 130 people from around the county including referees, coaches, administrators and young volunteers.
